Emanon 2023, where would we even start! Auditions we were excited 18 people came! We had 7 people in 2022 so this was an amazing start. Once we started rehearsals and saw what we needed to do we knew we had our work cut out for us this season. We thought “If we can do this, we can probably handle anything that comes in the door!”. Ours kids had so much potential that hadn’t been tapped yet and we were the lucky ones to find it.
Now don’t misunderstand, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies in the beginning! They knew they loved the activity and saw it on YouTube but didn’t see themselves as those people yet and we had to show them they definitely could be those people! There was frustration, tears, pushing, and convincing- but once they saw themselves making small victories and achieving the things they thought they couldn’t, everything opened up for them and they just ran with it!
Fast forward just 4 1/2 months later they’re a WGI Semi Finalist in A & undefeated Gold Medalist in their local circuit. So much for rebuilding! Looks like that’s done and we now are back and moving forward! This group has worked harder and smarter than ever this season. Now they get it, they understand it and they want it more than ever. Next season, if they are as smart coming in as they were when they left, they’ll get it too.
